Important: This guide is general information, not a Government communication or approval promise. Current law, portal behaviour and the relevant authority control the actual application.

Start with the applicant and State

GST registration is State-specific. Confirm the legal constitution, PAN, authorised signatory, business activity and the State from which taxable supplies are proposed before selecting an address arrangement.

Typical address-document review

  • Agreement or other occupancy document applicable to the arrangement
  • Owner consent or NOC where applicable
  • Recent supporting utility or municipal document
  • Constitution and authorisation documents
  • Identity, PAN and authentication details of the relevant persons

Verification readiness matters

The portal or officer may require additional information, authentication or physical verification. Confirm whether the selected property can support the proposed name-board, visit access and appointment process. These items should never be assumed from a headline package price.

Keep fees separated

The address package, professional filing fee, GST on services, deposit, courier, signage and any optional facility are different heads. A clear quotation should identify each one and should not describe a professional service fee as a Government fee.

Frequently asked questions

Is an NOC alone sufficient?

An NOC is only one part of an address file. The complete document set and applicant facts must be checked together.

Can the address be used as an APOB?

Potentially, but the intended use and the property's available documents must be confirmed before onboarding.
